Taking Things a Little Slower
We have had a good week as far as projects go.
First, we made "The Broken Table" live! The day after, as Matthew was reading our proof copy to Asa, he noticed something he wanted changed in two of the illustrations. So although it is live, it isn't quite finished yet. But the hardest part is over! It is all formatted correctly and all the words are as they should be. I will just need to replace two illustrations, and we will be able to announce it as officially available for purchase! I am playing around with having a teaser video for this book, because the pictures are absolutely beautiful, so giving potential readers just a taste will hopefully lead them to want to read the whole book.
We are revisiting "Catch the Invisible Man" because we are trying to decide if it would be better to include "A Interactive Touch Book" on the cover or not. We want people to know before they even open the book that it is a fun, interactive book. So including that in the cover would be best, right? Matthew is going to set up a poll to see what other people think. Other books like "Press Here" don't say it is an interactive touch book on the front, but it does say that in the description and on the back cover. I guess we will see what the outcome of the poll says first.
Book Wars 5 is so close to being done! There are just a few minor adjustments that need to be made, and then it will be live!
Improv Stories Episode 7 is live on YouTube! This one was fun because I was the one who picked the prompts for the story. It was so fun to see how Matthew used them. This is one of my favorite ones so far, because the story includes cheesecake. 😊
Now that Book Wars 5 is almost done, we are going to take a small break from creating new content so our videographer can have some time to finish Auto-Correct 3. He has a ton of audio and video clips to go through, and it will not only take a lot of time, but be incredibly tedious as well. So we want him to be able to comfortably go through all of that.
As far as family life goes, all is well. 😊 Asa has really been into setting up his own bowling games with random balls we have lying around the house and Ira's little plastic Charlie Brown figurines. One day as I was watching him play, I was able to see just how technology can be beneficially for children. Asa would never have known about bowling except for playing on our Kinect Sports game. And Ira has really been into coloring and drawing in character coloring books. Below is his drawing of Lucy from Despicable Me 2. He has a fierce interest in minions, and as a result has been showing more and more interest in creating, especially if it is related to minions, his favorite PBS Kids shows, and the Kinect Sports game. Some of my favorite drawings are of him and Asa boxing together.
Ean is starting to show more interest in talking instead of grunting...finally! He now say "Yeah" when I ask him a question instead of just nodding his head. And he finally is being more receptive to signing words. He has been fighting signs for months. But just yesterday he signed "water" when I prompted him after he screeched and pointed to the sink. And then just a few minutes ago he signed "please" after I prompted him. I am not going to overload him or he might reject signing again, but I sure hope signing is the answer to less temper tantrums over his lack of communication until he can build his vocabulary.
Until next week,
Kelsey
